Cambridge Town Offices

Meeting Minutes- 6:30PM

Present: Jon Pinault, Howard Davis, Peg Davis, Eric Small, Kate Clark, Jeff Spring

Absent: Tim Soutiere and Kevin White

Recreation opportunities for local residents: Howard talked with Mark Schilling who would look into this further to see if it would be tax deductible for the town.

Bakersfield Country Club is interested in doing a discount day for golf for Cambridge residents. Dates are September 10-24 (Mon-Thurs) $25.00 w/ cart, (Friday, Saturday Sunday) would be $30.00 with a cart.

Fields: Cambridge Health Center- we will revisit the infield as well as renting a sod cutter and re- establishing base lines (fall project in September)

Basketball Hoops for Cambridge Community Center– we have provided a letter of support, requested by John Dunn for basketball hoops for the Cambridge Community Center. There was some discussion and we agreed there seems to be a gray area where Cambridge 360 (a nonprofit) raises money for a profit (CCC). We will invite John Dunn to our next meeting for clarification.

Discount Days: Jeff feels Smuggs would be interested in doing these “days” during their off-season. Jeff can do free disc golf, 50% off bike rentals, free mtn bike course and possible free use of the pools.

The Fall Fest is scheduled for 9/9- 9/11 – Smuggs Village Fair, disc golf, craft beer, vendors, fly fishing, etc.  Petra Cliffs, MBVT (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). More information to follow.

Trash Cans- Cambridge Fields are “Carry in/ Carry out”. We will make signs as a friendly reminder- Eric will check with Liz regarding size and graphics.

Jeff mentioned he has been talking with Mike Mosher for a 2018 facilities grant for the mtn bike connection of the trail to connect it from Jeffersonville village to Smuggs. State of VT will do a 1/1 match of $25,000 for municipalities. Application deadline is 7/14.
