Meeting Minutes:

Senior Outings & Community Lunches

  • Could these events be “housed” under the Cambridge Rec Board (CRB) umbrella?
  • CRB is a town entity that has liability insurance and can manage financials
  • CRB will need to review with CRB board members including treasurer who are not present at today’s meeting
    • Scheduling of these senior activities would still be managed by Senior Task Force group
      • Activity Examples:
        • Lunches /1 x a month
        • Arts & Crafts
        • Outings:  Approx. 5 per year (shows, museums, paint & sip, etc.)

Ski & Ride Program

  • 45 people enrolled this year – off to a good start
  • Streamlined financial process this year – Enrollee payments directly to Smuggs

2018 Budget Review

  • Budget approved minus the $2k requested by Cambridge Community Center basketball hoops
  • If Senior Outings & Community events are absorbed by CRB this will not impact 2018 budget

Board Development

  • Currently have 6 full time members and 2 seasonal members = 8 total members
  • We need to maintain odd number of members for majority voting purposes and we could use an additional resource to handle workload
  • Need to fill secretary role. Kate Clark will remain on the board but has stepped down from secretary position

Upcoming Initiatives

  • Global Premier Soccer and Voltage have both contacted CRB and would like to perform week long camps at CES again this year
    • Global Premier Soccer June 25-29, 2018
    • Voltage July16th-20 , 2018
  • Field Maintenance
    • Still targeting work on CES baseball field dug outs and Cambridge Health Center softball field this spring
    • CRB will work towards finalizing the scheduling of these activities during our next board meeting
